Bessie's Paddock contains the development of this Workbook, including drawings, experimentation with code and the early design process.
These are the early concepts/wireframes for the Workbook. Originally, I wanted to have more of a “gallery” feel to the website, and make the interface simple, clean and organised. However, as I continued to learn about the possibilities of CSS and HTML, I broke away from this idea and started to be more playful with my designs.

The image on the far left is the original cursor idea for this Workbook. He is the earliest iteration of “Farmer Gareth”, who is currently flying around on this page.

These assets were drawn by hand in my sketchbook and then brought into Photoshop, where they were exported as pngs. I wanted to use hand-drawn elements in my design, as it felt more personal and hand-made. I have always leant more towards the analogue style of graphic design, so naturally it felt right to try and blend it together with something digital like a website.

These are the initial trials of my workbook, demonstrating the trial and error process of coding (especially the screenshot on the left).
